The Nokia Surge has a 2.4-inch active matrix LCD screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and color depth support up to 16 million colors. It includes an accelerometer for automatic portrait and landscape orientation as well as an ambient light detector that automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen. The screen sits above a discrete navigation area, with square five-way navigation pad, two soft navigation keys, and standard send/end keys. BANDUNG, KOMPAS.com - Tahun ini, Ericsson Indonesia masih hanya akan memfokuskan kerja sama pada lima operator yang menjadi kliennya, yaitu Telkomsel, Indosat, Excelcom, AXIS dan Bakrie Telecom.
Ekspansi belum terpikirkan lagi karena Bakrie Telecom sendiri baru saja menjadi pelanggan kategori CDMA dan WCDMA dari perusahaan asal Swedia ini tahun lalu.
"Apa yang kami lakukan yahin ini adalah bekerja sama dengan mereka untuk menjangkau lebih banyak pelanggan, membuat lebih banyak keuntungan, mengembangkan mobile broadband mereka, memperbaiki kualitas jaringan mereka serta service area coverage," ujar President and Country Manager Ericsson Indonesia Arun Bansal di sela acara Media Workshop Ericsson dan Gathering di Hotel Sheraton Bandung, Sabtu (6/3/2010).
Arun mengatakan bergabungnya Bakrie Telecom dalam daftar pelanggannya merupakan dampak dari pembelian Northell oleh Ericsson tahun lalu. Dengan demikian, Vice President Marketing and Communications Ericsson Indonesia Hardyana Syintawati menegaskan Bakrie yang sebelumnya menjadi pelanggan Northell diambil alih oleh Ericsson.
"Karena ada barang-barang based-nya Northell jadi bisa langsung kita ambil alih," tutur Hardyana. Selain lima operator itu, Bakrie juga masih menjalin kerja sama dengan Telkom Indonesia. Tahun ini, Ericsson juga akan terus menjajaki tren Long Term Evolution (LTE) atau 4G dengan para operator dan pemerintah sendiri.

HTC EVO 4G, Smartphone Android Pertama dengan Wimax
WASHINGTON, KOMPAS.com - Pabrikan ponsel Taiwan HTC menjadi vendor pertama yang akan merilis smartphone berbasis Android yang dilengkapi Wimax, koneksi internet kecepatan tinggi generasi keempat. Smartphone tersebut bakal diberi nama HTC EVO 4G, bukan HTC Supersonic seperti yang dirumorkan sebelumnya.
Adalah Sprint, operator seluler berbasis CDMA di AS, yang membocorkan rencana tersebut seperti dilansir Engadget. Sprint menjadi mitra eksklusif yang akan digandeng HTC untuk mengeluarkan perangkat ini ke pasaran untuk pertama kali. HTC EVO 4G rencananya dirilis pada musim panas tahun ini atau sekitar Juni-Juli 2010 mendatang.
Secara teknis, spesifikasi HTC EVO 4G termasuk paling unggul dibandingkan smartphone Android yang sudah beredar saat ini. Untuk menjalankan aplikasi bakal sangat nyaman karena sistemomputasinya didukung prosesor Snapdragon 1GHz, memori internal 1GB, dan memori RAM 512 MB. Sayang, memori eksternal bawaannya hanya 8 GB.
Layarnya TFT LCD 4,3 inci dengan resolusi 480 x 800. Kualitas grafiknya mendukung hingga video high definition 720p. HTC EVO 4G juga dilengkapi port HDMI untuk menampilkan video kualitas tinggi di layar monitor eksternal yang juga sudah mendukung. Selain itu, smartphone ini dilengkapi kamera utama 8 MP dan kamera depan 1,3 MP.
